2. Acceptance of Terms
By submitting a contact form, booking a consultation, or entering into a written care arrangement with Gentleoak, you confirm that you are aged 18 or over, have the legal capacity to enter into an agreement, and accept these terms in full. If you are acting on behalf of an elderly family member, you confirm that you have authority to do so.
3. Service Description
Gentleoak provides three categories of in-home elderly care services:
- Gentle Mobility and Wellness Visits — structured short visit support focused on physical comfort and wellness observation
- Caregiver Coordination Package — comprehensive care management including aide sourcing, scheduling, and provider liaison
- Extended Live-In Care — residential care arrangements with a trained aide living in the client's home
Services are delivered within Taipei and surrounding accessible areas. Geographic availability may vary for specific arrangements. Service availability is subject to caregiver capacity and is not guaranteed at all times without prior arrangement.
4. Client Responsibilities
- Provide accurate and complete information about the care recipient's health, mobility, living environment, and any relevant medical history
- Notify Gentleoak promptly of any changes in the care recipient's condition that may affect the service
- Ensure that the home environment is reasonably safe for the caregiver to work in
- Treat Gentleoak staff and caregivers with respect and without harassment or intimidation
- Make payment for services in accordance with the agreed schedule
5. Payment Terms
Service fees are as follows (all prices in New Taiwan Dollars):
- Gentle Mobility and Wellness Visits: from NT$7,700
- Caregiver Coordination Package: from NT$14,400
- Extended Live-In Care: from NT$50,600
Payment is due within seven days of invoice. We accept bank transfer and other methods confirmed at the time of engagement. Late payment may result in temporary suspension of service.
Refunds for services not yet delivered will be assessed on a case-by-case basis. Fees for services already rendered are not refundable except in cases of documented service failure on our part.
6. Intellectual Property
All content on the Gentleoak website — including text, structure, and design — is the property of Gentleoak and may not be reproduced, copied, or distributed without prior written permission. Care documentation created by Gentleoak staff remains the property of Gentleoak but clients may request copies of documentation relating to their own care.
7. Disclaimers
Gentleoak provides non-medical home care support. Our services do not constitute medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Families seeking clinical assessment or medical intervention should consult a licensed healthcare professional.
While we take care in matching aides to clients and supervising service quality, we cannot represent specific health outcomes as a result of our services. Each person's situation is different, and care results naturally vary.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by Taiwan law, Gentleoak's liability for any claim arising from our services is limited to the fees paid for the specific service period in question. We exclude liability for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these terms limits liability for gross negligence or wilful misconduct.
9. Termination
Either party may end a service arrangement with reasonable written notice as specified in the service agreement (typically seven to fourteen days for visit services, and fourteen to thirty days for live-in arrangements).
Gentleoak may terminate a service arrangement immediately in cases of unpaid fees, unsafe working conditions, or conduct that is harmful to caregiver wellbeing. The client's right to retain care documentation survives termination.
10. Dispute Resolution
These terms are governed by the laws of Taiwan (Republic of China). In the event of a dispute, we encourage both parties to attempt informal resolution first by contacting us at [email protected]. If informal resolution is not possible, disputes shall be referred to the competent courts in Taipei.
11. General Provisions
- If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect
- Our failure to enforce a provision does not constitute a waiver of that provision
- These terms, together with any written service agreement, constitute the entire agreement between the parties
- We may update these terms from time to time; the current version is always available at https://gentlens.live/terms-conditions.html
